Runes

Runes are permanent upgrades which can be purchased with souls from the loadout menu, by clicking "Runes" in the top-left.

There are 2 rune types: Sword and Shield.

Each rune type has 4 rank rows (1+, 5+, 10+, and 15+). The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rows are unlocked by purchasing any 5, 10, or 15 ranks respectively. You don't have to buy ranks from the row directly above a locked row (e.g. buying all 5 ranks of Power, Alacrity and Mysticism will total 15, making the final Sword row available).

You can only equip 2 runes from each row at a time: one for Sword and one for Shield (e.g. for Sword Rank 1+, you can choose only one of Power, Alacrity, or Mysticism).

Sword

Sword runes focus on dealing more damage, or inflicting status effects.

Alacrity.png Alacrity Fire Rate and Reload Rate multipliers +2% per rank (10% max).
Mysticism.png Mysticism Your bullets have a 2% chance per rank (10% max) to inflict Burn or Freeze.
5+ Aftershock.png Aftershock After shooting your last ammo, deal damage to all nearby enemies. This damage is equal to 20% of your Bullet Damage per rank (100% max). 3150
Elemental Barrage.png Elemental Barrage After inflicting Freeze or Burn 50 times, Fire Rate and Reload Rate multipliers +50% for 1 second per rank (5 seconds max).
Close Combat.png Close Combat Enemies take 3% extra damage per rank (15% max) while within your vision range.
10+ Glass Cannon.png Glass Cannon Start the game with your HP at half of your max HP. Bullet Damage and Fire Rate multipliers +5% per rank (25% max). 6300
Wild Magic.png Wild Magic When enemies die while Burning or Frozen, there is a 5% chance per rank (25% max) of spreading their status effect to nearby enemies.
Gun Glyph.png Gun Glyph Summon a Glyph every 10 seconds. After a few seconds, the Glyph explodes into 6 bullets that deal 10% damage. Reduce the time it takes to summon a Glyph by 1 second per rank (-5 seconds max).

Gun Glyph's damage and cooldown are affected by Summon Damage and Summon Attack Speed multipliers. Gun Glyph does not count as a summon.

15+ Cadence.png Cadence Every 3rd shot has infinite Piercing and double Bullet Size. This shot also deals +20% extra damage per rank (100% max). 12800
Ethereal.png Ethereal Every 50 kills, your gun enters the Ethereal state. While Ethereal, your gun does not consume ammo. Ethereal lasts for 2 seconds per rank (10 seconds max).
Dedication.png Dedication If you have exactly 1 summon, Summon Damage and Summon Attack Speed multipliers +10% per rank (50% max).

Shield

Shield runes focus on defence and healing.

Tenacity.png Tenacity When your HP is at or below half of your Max HP, Fire Rate and Knockback multipliers +3% per rank (15% max).
Courage.png Courage Knockback enemies after reloading. Reload Rate multiplier +2% per rank (10% max).
5+ Momentum.png Momentum After picking up XP, Move Speed multiplier +7% (35% max) per rank for 1 second. 3150
Agility.png Agility Dodge chance +2% per rank (+10% max).

Dodge chance caps at 60%.

Seismic Ward.png Seismic Ward Summon 2 Seismic Wards that knocks back nearby enemy every 10 seconds. Seismic Wards' ability activates 1 second faster per rank (-5 seconds max).

The Seismic Wards count as 2 summons, and their cooldown is affected by Summon Attack Speed multiplier.

10+ Blessing.png Blessing Start the game with Holy Shield. Reduce Holy Shield's regeneration time by 5 seconds per rank (-25 seconds max). 6300
Healing.png Healing Every 1500th enemy killed will drop an item that heals you for 1 HP. Reduce the threshold of enemies killed needed by 100 per rank (-500 enemies max).
Premonition.png Premonition Dodge chance cap +3% per rank (+15% max).
15+ Growth.png Growth You heal 1 HP every 5th level. Increases the Experience gained from each XP orb by 4% per rank (max 20%). 12800
Body and Soul.png Body and Soul Every 300 seconds, gain a Soul Heart. Max 3. Increase max limit of Soul Hearts by +1 per rank (max +5).
Wind Shield.png Wind Shield Gain a wind shield that blocks an enemy projectile. Wind shield recharges after 10 seconds. Recharge time reduced by 1 second per rank (-5 seconds max).
